Mama Infos, for mothers, and Sage-Femme Infos, for midwives, work as a pair. A record the midwife enters during the visit appears on the mother’s own device immediately.

The connection does not break when the visit ends, so the next appointment and the test results remain available to look back on.

Everything in French, field names as printed

Screens, educational content, and notifications are all in French.

Field names follow the wording of the paper handbook the state issues. Medical terms match the expressions used in the local handbook, so midwives enter data under the same names and in the same order as on paper, with nothing to translate in their heads.

Built around the official handbook

In Côte d’Ivoire, the Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage (MSHPCMU) and the National Maternal and Child Health Programme (PNSME) issue an official maternal and child health handbook.

The handbook comprises a main section and appendices, and covers not only the pregnancy period but also delivery, infant check-ups, immunisation, growth curves, and school-entry examinations in a single volume. Using the same field structure in both formats makes the paper handbook and the application easy to cross-reference.

The application currently covers the fields centred on antenatal care, and we are extending it to the records that follow delivery.
